Chalk Bluff Battlefield Park -- Saint Francis, AR

The administration and staff at NEARPS, do not, nor have we ever, presented pictures of orbs as paranormal evidence. We feel that the subject is far too controversial to even consider. We may, in the future, post a page showing what the commonly photographed anomalies look like and give an explanation of what possibly caused it in the camera. Orbs will never be presented as paranormal on our website and we urge other serious paranormal groups to follow suit.

*Note* Due to the fact that many of these photos were taken at night, the images in them can be very faint and hard to see if you have any kind of glare in your monitor screen. Try viewing them in the dark if all else fails. This can also be a helpful hint to any inexperienced paranormal investigators out there. Always reanalyze your photos at night with all the lights out, you will be surprised at what you missed while viewing them during the day! This goes for night vision video as well.

This photo shows what appears to be an apparition. We are not sure whether it is male or female. At one point, I thought I saw a child holding the entities right hand. It is truly remarkable! Notice the aura of light surrounding the entity and note that it is out of the effective range of the flash of the camera, indicating that this is not just a reflection off of something in the woods. The only modification made to the photo was where I circled it using Microsoft Paint and added the URL watermark.

This is the entity from the photo above that has been cropped and enlarged.

This image appears to show a full floating head apparition. Notice how the entity seems to be emitting its own light. At first glance, this entity will look similar to the "dust orbs" (or orbs formed in the image by the flash reflecting off of dust particles in the air) in the image, until you zoom in on it. The facial detail is prominent showing eyes, ears, mouth, and nose. The "dust orbs" will look like the cross section of a cellular organism with a dark center and a clearly defined border.

This is the entity from the photo above after it has been cropped and enlarged.

This is another full floating head apparition. This time it appears to be female in gender due to the fact that it's hair appears to be pulled up in a tight bun.

Ok, you will probably have to look at this one with the lights out because it is very faint. It appears to us to be an entity that is tied up much the way POWs are, with the person's body weight being suspended by their wrists. Since this one is very faint, we leave it up to the viewer to decide if it is what it appears to be. It certainly goes along with the history of the location being civil war battles were fought here.

By now you should know what comes next. That's right, the photo above cropped and enlarged.

This appears to be an entities head and arm just barely making it into the photo.

Here, as usual, we move in for a closer look of the image above.

*NOTE* These last two images were caught on camera by one of our Junior Investigators. Great Job, Becca! There is a jagged border made up of upright logs around the playground area at Chalk Bluff. This photo shows what appears to be an entity sitting on it. FYI: These last two photos are the only evidence that supports an intelligent type haunting because they show the entity interacting with the present day landscape. This EVP sounds like musket or cannon fire. A sound that would be residual in nature since Civil War Battles were fought here.

This one sounds like musket fire, much like the one above.

This sounds like musket fire, as well. None of these sounds were heard by any investigator at the time of the recording.

This one sounds like someone whispering "The Bugle"

This EVP simply sounds like someone or something sighing.

This one is of an entity saying "This is Moe"

This is the same EVP as above but amplified a little.

This sounds like an entity whispering "War" or "This is War"

After reviewing this evidence, it is the opinion of the Northeast Arkansas Paranormal Society that Chalk Bluff has some Residual activity going on, stemming back to Civil War battles that were fought here. While some may consider this to be haunted, NEARPS does not label a location as haunted unless the entities present interact with us or their surroundings, denoting intelligence. With this in mind, Our opinion is that Chalk Bluff Battlefield Park is:

NOT

HAUNTED !

However, this case is ongoing...
