Getting Started

The following are some tips on how to get involved in ghost hunting/investigating.

              * Try contacting an organization in your area.  Ghost investigating is becoming the new "in" thing and groups are popping up all over the place.  You can contact us if you are in the Northeast Arkansas / Southeast Missouri area by sending an email here.  Or by checking out our "Become a Member" page HERE.

*When choosing a group, make sure you make the right choice.  You want to be with people interested in investigating.  This means people who follow PROTOCOL and who are not going to immediately pass off every shadow and light as spirit activity.  Sadly, I've seen photos of dashboard lights, breath in cold temperatures, and tree branches passed off as ghost photos.  Unfortunately, these charlatans of the ghost hunting world make the rest of us look bad.  So make sure you're with people who mean business and genuinely care about researching the paranormal.

If you want to go out on your own or can't find a group near you, here are some tips:

*Learn as much as possible.  Go to websites and read what others are doing or thinking.

*Practice good protocol.  You always want to make sure that your investigations are as flawless as possible.

*Get some equipment.  You only need the most basic of things: a 35 mm camera, 400 speed film, a flashlight, and a notebook is all you need to start.

*Find places near you to investigate.  Most areas have haunted places.  Check cemeteries, old buildings, and battlefields, but remember: NO TRESPASSING!  Get permission before going onto private property.
